My introduction to Futsal was brief and seemingly short lived. I did two games, both of which I enjoyed, however seeing as I did not get paid for the second game and County FA would not back me up or help me get my money for this game I doubt I will be reffing Futsal for Leicestershire & Rutland County FA again. Maybe in the future for a more organised group or in one of the proper leagues I hope so however it is very unlikely to happen in the near future, which is unfortunate really.

So far I have done one proper Futsal game, and also officiated in one friendly tournament. I can't remember much about the tournament, other than I thought it was good and I liked it; it was my first Futsal game(s).

The main one I did though was on Sunday 24th August 2008 (never got paid...) and it was between Birmingham Bulls and Loughborough Uni. Here is my thoughts on it immediately after the game:

"Comments: This was Futsal. It was very hard!! Birmingham were pros and Loughborough were amateurs. Futsal is non contact but I was used to parks where you let them get on with it; Birmingham were not happy. One of the officials gave me some pointers at half time so in the second half I was stricter but still not strict enough for the Brummys yet now Loughborough thought I was too strict!! Can't win. I was the 2nd Referee and Referee X was the 1st Referee. I've learnt a lot but need to be doing it on a regular basis to get used to it."
